Author Guidelines

General requirements

  • Original work, not previously published or under review elsewhere, and within the focus and scope.
  • Research articles report a replicable method: design, participants, instruments, validity/reliability, and analysis.
  • Research involving people states the ethics approval number where available, or a statement of informed consent and anonymisation. Participants under 18 require consent from parents or guardians and the institution.
  • Languages: Indonesian or English. Indonesian articles include an English title, abstract, and keywords.
  • At least 25 references, 70% of them journal articles from the last ten years, with DOIs where available.
  • One author may publish at most one article per issue.
  • Upload the manuscript as a Word file (.docx) using the template, without author names in the file (double-blind review).

  • Research Articles, 5,000–8,000 words
  • Learning Innovation (classroom action or development research with evaluation data), 4,000–7,000 words
  • Learning Policy Studies, 5,000–8,000 words

Citations and references

  • APA 7th edition; use of a reference manager (Mendeley or Zotero) is required.

Transliteration

Arabic terms follow the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs and the Minister of Education and Culture (1987).

Submission Preparation Checklist

  • The manuscript is original and not under review by another journal.
  • The manuscript follows the Author Guidelines and the Sorogan template.
  • The article is based on primary data or verifiable secondary data from a pesantren or madrasah setting.
  • Ethics approval or informed consent (and parental consent for participants under 18) is stated.
  • The title, abstract, and keywords are provided in English and in the language of the manuscript.
  • Author names and affiliations have been removed from the manuscript file.
  • References follow APA 7 using Mendeley/Zotero, with at least 25 references.
  • Any use of generative AI has been declared.
  • The corresponding author has entered an active WhatsApp number in their user profile (Edit Profile › Contact › Phone). This number is used only for editorial correspondence and is never published.

Research Articles

Qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods research in pesantren or madrasah. 5,000–8,000 words.

Learning Innovation

Classroom action or development research with evaluation data. 4,000–7,000 words.

Learning Policy Studies

Data-based analysis of curriculum, assessment, and learning-quality policies. 5,000–8,000 words.
