About the Journal

Al-Majmu’: Journal of Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies is an open-access scholarly journal published by Mitra Edukasi. The journal provides a platform for rigorous scholarly research and critical inquiry into Islam through interdisciplinary perspectives.

Focus and Scope

Al-Majmu’ welcomes original research articles that explore Islamic studies and their interdisciplinary dimensions. The journal covers, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  1. Qur’anic Studies and Qur’anic Interpretation;
  2. Hadith Studies and Prophetic Traditions;
  3. Islamic Thought, Theology, and Philosophy;
  4. Islamic Education and Educational Management;
  5. Islamic Law and Contemporary Legal Studies;
  6. Islamic History, Culture, and Civilization;
  7. Islamic Manuscripts, Philology, and Intellectual Heritage;
  8. Sufism, Spirituality, and Islamic Mysticism;
  9. Islam, Society, and Contemporary Muslim Studies; and
  10. other interdisciplinary studies that contribute to the development of Islamic studies.

The journal welcomes diverse theoretical, methodological, and disciplinary approaches, provided that submissions demonstrate clear academic significance and make a substantive contribution to the field.

Language

Al-Majmu’ accepts manuscripts written in English, Indonesian, or Arabic.

Publication Frequency

Al-Majmu’ is published twice a year, in June and December.

Open Access Policy

Al-Majmu’ provides immediate open access to all published articles. The journal supports the principle that making scholarly research freely available to the public promotes broader knowledge dissemination, academic exchange, and the advancement of scholarship.

Peer Review

All research articles submitted to Al-Majmu’ undergo a double-blind peer-review process. The identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process. Manuscripts are evaluated based on their originality, academic quality, methodological rigor, relevance to the journal’s scope, and contribution to the development of knowledge.

Article Processing Charge

Al-Majmu’ applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 100,000 for accepted articles. Further information regarding payment procedures and applicable conditions is provided in the journal’s submission and publication guidelines.
